The Strand is closed to motor traffic

The Strand, Liverpool's major traffic system along the waterfront, was closed today (as planned) to enable visitors safe access to the Tall Ships.

The Strand will re-open this evening when visitor numbers have decreased. the exact time will, of course, be made later on when visitor numbers can be estimated.

Weather conditions are improved today, so why not come down to Liverpool's historic waterfront and see the 60 Tall Ships in all their glory.

Also, keep a lookout for news on the Parade of Sail on Monday afternoon when (weather permitting) the ships will sail up the Mersey and then return past the waterfront and out into deeper waters.
